The I-10 Southern Relief Route is undergoing a Mobility and Funding
Study that involves
two phases: The first phase involves identifying, defining and
providing recommended improvements for the problems along the southern
corridor of Loop 375. Secondly, the study will provide direction for
funding the proposed improvements.
What is a Mobility and Funding Study? A Mobility and Funding Study
helps communities solve difficult transportation problems by identifying
challenges and recommending initial ideas for meeting them. The primary
goal in this study is to provide a relief route for I-10 along the
southern corridor of Loop 375 in El Paso. The accomplishment of this
goal will provide I-10 motorists with additional transportation
alternatives, a balanced distribution of traffic within this corridor,
and provide a mechanism for funding the construction and maintenance of
future transportation improvements in El Paso.
A Mobility & Funding Study will look at reasonable driving alternatives
as a means of improving the performance and reliability of the roadway.
Following the completion of the I-10 SRR Mobility & Funding Study, the
study will be presented to the Transportation Policy Board of the
Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for approval.
